Education is considered by the Fityanu Sidqin Association as the main factor to change and develop the society.
Twenty-one years since its creation, the Association has achieved several social challenges and created many projects to accompany children, particularly in rural areas, in order to reach their needs for social fulfillment. With more than 7,000 children under its responsibility, the Association aims to participate in major global challenges which consist in promoting children education in Africa and all around the world.
The Fityanu Sidqin Association intervenes in several countries and localities.
Around 20 schools and 1000 students in the Gambia, more than 30 schools with around 3000 students in Senegal, around 50 schools with more than 6000 students in Guinea Bissau
These schools are under the supervision of the following 6 Islamic Institutes;
- El Hadji Ibrahima Niasse Islamic Institute in Nioro du Rip (Senegal)
- Sheikh Muhamed Nazir Islamic Institute Keur Bano (Badibou in the Gambia)
- Cheikh Alpha Mayoro Islamic Institute in Casamance (Senegal)
- Zaida Fatima Islamic Institute in Serrekunda (Gambia)
- Sheikh Muhamed Nazir Islamic Institute in Trenkamento (Guinea Bissau)
- Islamic Institute in Galomaro (Guinea Bissau)
These Islamic institutes teach from pre-school through to secondary school, and 90% of them are located in rural areas where access to education is a real problem. This means that the majority of students are from poor parents who cannot afford to pay for their education. To this end, Jamiya has created a support mechanism, in partnership with its partners, to subsidize the studies of its children and thus make education accessible to all.
SCHOLARSHIP
As part of its education policy, Jamiya awards 1,000 full scholarships to children whose parents cannot afford to pay for their education.
In collaboration with its foreign partners, Jamiya also offers scholarships abroad to its most deserving students. Over the past 6 years, it has awarded 15 scholarships abroad.
